I created a trilogy based off the podcast, Up and Vanished. With the podcast having over 15 episodes about the disappearance of Tara Grinstead, I had to split the story into three parts to where the story didn't feel as of it was dragged out. I was inspired by how Payne Lindsey first heard about the case and how it was making a comeback into the news, what actually happened the night Tara went missing, and the effects of the disappearance.
The white rabbit that is shown on the front of each book represents how Payne was taken all different ways during his investigation; he was going down the rabbit holes and following white rabbits. I found an old picture of a black rabbit running for a science experiment, and inverted the picture so the rabbit would appear white. I then overlayed different poses of the rabbit running on-top of each other with different transparencies so that it seemed like the rabbit was going many different ways to indicate the confusion and different ways the story went.
